Description & Artist's Statement
"Winter To Spring" explores that time between dormancy and renewal. After creating this piece, I was reminded of the end of a “fallow state”, that necessary period of stillness when nothing seems to be happening, yet deep, invisible changes are silently about to take root.
Using high-flow acrylics, UV ink and paint, colored pencil, and white pen and ink, I wanted to capture that moment when winter begins to loosen its grip and spring, though still fragile, asserts its presence. The backdrop evokes thawing soil or worn parchment — an ancient surface layered with time. From the lower left, a dark branch rises, erupting into vibrant, luminous blooms of crimson, magenta, and vermilion, punctuated with glowing dots. They are like little sparks, a visual illustration of hidden growth and energy fighting to be seen.Near the bottom, a single dark circle provides a quiet focal point, like a seed or a distant planet
"Winter To Spring" is both a personal and seasonal metaphor: a reminder that change often begins in the dark, and feisty little sprouts are growing strong even before they become visible."
