“Goggle Girl” is a portrait born from my fascination with modern perception — how we see and how we are being seen, in an era shaped by filters, fashion, and technology. I created this piece using high-flow acrylics, UV ink, and calligraphy ink, all chosen for their fluidity and intensity.

 

The girl is painted in grayscale to emphasize contrast and detachment, while the vivid red background, streaked with upside down vertical drips, creates a sense of heat, urgency, or digital noise. Her lips, striking in rich red, echo the intensity of the background and add a bit of classic glamour.

 

The goggles — oversized and rendered in glowing yellow — are the focal point. To me, they represent an augmented vision which has become a barrier as well as a lens. They obscure the eyes but amplify her presence, much like the identities we construct and worship through our screens and social platforms. The UV elements in the piece add another hidden layer, a nod to the invisible energies shaping how we experience reality.
