    • Description & Artist's Statement

"Blue Water is an exploration of movement and translucency. I approached this piece with a sense of surrender, letting the materials guide the flow. Acrylics and calligraphy ink and a little bit of soap, allowed me to create soft, blooming washes that evoke the drifting weightlessness of underwater life. Using white pen, ink, and colored pencil gave me the precision to define the delicate tendrils and filaments.

I am always thinking about bioluminescence, cellular structures, and the quiet choreography of tendriled organisms as they pulse through deep water. The forms aren’t meant to be literal—they're part creature, part dream—echoes of something both familiar and otherworldly.

Working with layered translucency helped me build an environment that feels immersive and meditative, like peering into a tidepool. Blue Water is my way of expressing stillness in motion, and the strange, beautiful logic of fluid systems."
